Perseids Meteor Shower Watch Party
Perseids Meteor Shower Watch Party
Come out to SFI's Selma property August 10th at 9 PM to experience the wonder of up to 110 meteors per hour striking the Earth's atmosphere.
The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower (or stream of debris) along the orbit of the comet Swift–Tuttle. The meteors are ejected by the comet during its 133-year orbit and appear visibly in the sky near the constellation Perseus, which is how they got their name.
SFI's unique visibility of the night sky and lack of light pollution makes it an ideal place to view this stellar phenomenon. We are excited to partner with the Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve to host this event FREE to all cosmically inclined individuals and families.
