Join Scott Kaiser as he reads from his new book, Conquering the Canon: A Life in Shakespeare. The book chronicles his journey through all 38 of Shakespeare’s plays during his three decades with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Blending behind-the-scenes stories with theatrical insight, the book is part memoir and part masterclass on bringing Shakespeare to life onstage.

Kaiser is a nationally recognized master teacher of acting and voice, as well as a director, playwright, and author. For 28 seasons, he served as a member of the artistic staff at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, where he directed, adapted, coached, or performed in every play in Shakespeare’s canon. He is the author of 25 books, including novels, short stories, instructional guides to acting Shakespeare, and numerous plays and adaptations for the stage.
