Intro. to Copper Etching
Learn the fundamentals of this intaglio printmaking process where you will be instructed on how to etch and print copper plates. You will be guided step-by-step through plate preparation using hard ground and soft ground, aquatint, scribing lines, stopping out, multiple stage bites in acid (ferric chloride), preparing paper and printing. By the end of this 4-week series, you will have a well rounded understanding of copper etching and the ability to continue to advance your skills and pursue the medium independently through your personal practice!
