Film Screening: “An Oregon Story: Saving Our Beaches, Farmland & More”
On Thursday Feb. 1 at 5pm, Curry Public Library will host the screening of a new film: An Oregon Story: Saving Our Beaches, Farmland & More. The film explores the history of Oregon’s innovative land use planning system, initially inspired by the need to protect valuable farmland from urban sprawl. Film producer, Jim Gilbert, a long-time farmer and nursery owner, was inspired to make this film to help more Oregonians understand this important part of our state’s heritage. Gilbert and filmmaker Joe Wilson will give a brief introduction and be available for Q&A after the showing. This event is co-sponsored by Curry Public Library, Kalmiopsis Audubon, and the League of Women Voters of Curry County. Light refreshments will be served.
