English Dance at the Sixes Grange Sunday June 29, Public Welcome - A Free Event

The public is invited to an Afternoon Tea and English Country Dance at the Sixes Grange Hall Sunday, June 29th, from 5-7:30PM. This special free event will feature live music by the Outstanding Open Band a professional South Coast ensemble. Singles and couples can all enjoy the enchanting beauty of English Country Dancing. It’s easy to learn and a pleasure to experience. New dancers are welcome. English Country Dancing is a graceful, and very enjoyable form of casual social dance. Callers will guide you throughout the evening. Please be on time for their dance lesson at 5pm.

The Outstanding Open Band plays lovely arrangements of traditional English dance tunes. This vibrant band consists of talented local musicians. Their music is the perfect complement to these endearing English dances. If you prefer not to dance, you and your friends can relax to this lovely music with a cup of tea.

A generous grant from the Curry County Cultural Trust makes this free event possible. The South Coast Folk Society will be your host for this event, and all South Coast residents are encouraged to attend. Enjoy time-honored dances like “Buttered Peas”, “Duke of Kent’s Waltz”, and “Sapphire Sea”. Comfortable, casual dress is recommended. Period dress is welcome.

This event is alcohol and fragrance free. It will take place at the Sixes Grange Hall, located at 44556 US 101, Sixes. Refreshments, including scones and tea, will be served. Doors open at 4:45PM. For more information call 541-404-8267, or visit southcoastfolksociety.com.
