English Country Dance - FREE PUBLIC EVENT IN COQUILLE
The public is invited to an Afternoon Tea and English Country Dance at the Coquille Community Building this Sunday, February 4, from 5-7:30PM. This special free event will feature live music by the Outstanding Open Band, a talented and enthusiastic group of South Coast musicians. Their music is the perfect complement to these endearing English dances. If you prefer not to dance, you and your friends can relax to this lovely music with a cup of tea.
There will be lessons at 5PM, and calling by Laura Lee Cundiff and Paul Poresky. Singles and couples can all enjoy the enchanting beauty of English Country Dancing. It’s easy to learn and a pleasure to experience. New dancers are welcome. English Country Dancing is an enjoyable, graceful form of casual social dance appropriate for all. Callers will guide you throughout the evening. Please be on time for their important dance lesson at 5pm.
The South Coast Folk Society will be your host for this event, and all South Coast residents are encouraged to attend. Enjoy time-honored dances like “Duke of Kent’s Waltz”, “The Spaniard”, and “Christchurch Bells”. Comfortable, casual dress is recommended.
This event is alcohol and fragrance free. It will take place at the Coquille Community Building, located at 115 N. Birch Street. Refreshments, including scones and tea, will be available.
