English Country Dance at Sixes Grange Saturday March 30, Public Welcome
The public is invited to an Afternoon Tea and English Country Dance at the Sixes Grange Hall Saturday, March 30, from 5-7:30PM. This special event will feature live music by the Summer Wind Ensemble, a professional South Coast quartet. Lessons at 5PM, and calling by Laura Lee Cundiff and Paul Poresky. Singles and couples can all enjoy the enchanting beauty of English Country Dancing. It’s easy to learn and a pleasure to experience. New dancers are welcome. English Country Dancing is an enjoyable, graceful form of casual social dance appropriate for all. Callers will guide you throughout the evening. Please be on time for their dance lesson at 5pm.
The talented Summer Wind Ensemble plays lovely arrangements of traditional English dance tunes. This vibrant band consists of Cynthia Stone on flute, Penny McLeod on piano, Gerry Canning on guitar, and Al Rumsch on recorder. Their music is the perfect complement to these endearing English dances. If you prefer not to dance, you and your friends can relax to this lovely music with a cup of tea.
The South Coast Folk Society will be your host for this event, and all South Coast residents are encouraged to attend. Enjoy time-honored dances including “Christina”, “The Rakes of Rochester”, and “The Geud Man of Ballangigh”. Comfortable, casual dress is recommended.
This event is alcohol and fragrance free. It will take place at the Sixes Grange Hall, located at 44556 US 101, Sixes. Refreshments, including scones and tea, will be served. Doors open at 4:45PM.
