Professor Emeritus of Geography Alexander B. Murphy will give a talk titled “Coping With a Fast-Changing World: Why Geography Matters”. The talk will take a look at how modern geography goes far beyond place-name memorization and offers a set of tools for critical insights into the rapidly changing world of the twenty-first century, including matters ranging from geopolitical developments, to the spread of disease, to the opportunities and challenges communities face.
