To begin the day, we will learn about the two lineages that are preserved at KSC, and then we will gather around the shrine. What are the objects are placed on it, and why are those objects chosen to be there? There will be time to hold and view many of the altar offerings, allowing us to become comfortable at the shrine.

We will particularly familiarize ourselves with the offering bowls, which are utilized at all practices and teachings in the sanctuary. How do we clean them? How do we fill them with appropriate offerings, and then “close” them at the end of practice? Everyone will have time to practice (or refine) these basic skills during the morning session. Anyone can learn these skills, and all are welcome to attend.
