CELEBRATING THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE AND THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ASHLAND CULTURE OF PEACE COMMISSION
The Ashland Culture of Peace Commission (ACPC), in collaboration with Southern Oregon University (SOU), will host a powerful community event in celebration of the United Nations International Day of Peace and ACPC’s 10th anniversary of visionary peace leadership.
The event takes place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM PDT, at the World Peace Flame at the Thalden Pavilion, Sustainability Center, Southern Oregon University. All are welcome—families, students, global peace builders, and neighbors from all walks of life.
The program will feature SOU President Rick Bailey as keynote speaker, with additional reflections from ACPC leaders and uplifting music by the beloved Ashland Peace Choir. This special gathering also highlights the world’s only solar-powered World Peace Flame, a living symbol of unity, hope, and environmental stewardship.
Founded in 2015, the Ashland Culture of Peace Commission has become a beacon for both local and global peace building. Through education, dialogue, public events, and artistic expression, ACPC has inspired thousands to integrate peace into daily life and community culture.
