The Grants Pass Museum of Art presents the art of Virginia Andrade. Virginia wanted to help the museum and donated her art to us prior to her passing. This sale is in lieu of our normal fundraiser and will honor a great artist and woman.

Virginia Andrade was a mature artist whose connection to abstract expressionism has evolved within her work. Utilizing the effects of time and wear, she explored the commonly held belief that aging is an unattractive circumstance to be avoided and ignored. Facing the challenge of her own experiences, she focused on the meaning of age in contemporary society, specifically as a woman. Virginia questioned, searched, and experimented with her art and, through this process, claimed her identity.
