19th Century Family Life

19th Century Family Life

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live during the Victorian Era? Glimpse an upper-class Jacksonville family’s lifestyle in the late 1800s when Historic Jacksonville, Inc. opens the 1870s C.C. Beekman House for 30-minute "19th Century Family Life" tours.
Tours showcase the daily life of Jacksonville’s richest and most prominent family during the town’s heyday, providing insight into the Industrial Revolution and its impact on almost every aspect of society. Tours begin every 30 minutes between 12 noon and 3 p.m. with costumed docents adapting the tours to guests' areas of interest. The 1870s Beekman House Museum is located at 470 E. California Street in Jacksonville and was owned and occupied by only the one family.
