Oregon College Baseball Teams Score Twice: UO, OSU Reach Playoffs

Both the Beavers and Ducks baseball teams are headed to the college playoffs, the NCAA announced Monday.

Oregon State is in second place in the Pac-12 conference and will start its postseason on the home field of Dallas Baptist University. OSU will start regional play Friday afternoon against the University of Texas Longhorns.

Perhaps the more surprising playoff berth is for the University of Oregon. The Ducks finished sixth in the conference, but they won two games against first-place, UCLA, over the weekend. U of O starts against the University of Iowa in Springfield, Missouri, on Friday.

The news comes on the heels of the Ducks softball team advancing through the regionals to the College World Series. The Duck women have lost only once in their last 22 games, dating back to late March. They start against UCLA on Thursday in Oklahoma City.
