Stock Gifts

An advantageous way to make a contribution that benefits Jefferson Public Radio is through a gift of stock or other appreciated securities to the JPR Foundation, Inc. Making a gift of securities is simple and offers a number of valuable financial benefits:

  • You can donate appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds
  • The total value of the stock upon transfer is tax-deductible
  • You will avoid all capital gains taxes on the appreciated securities donated

Stock Donation Instructions

Step 1: Complete Transfer

Instruct the financial institution where stocks are held to transfer the shares to the JPR Foundation account at Morgan Stanley using the following codes:

DTC # 0015
Account # 173-105434-034

The JPR Foundation Employer Identification Number (EIN)/Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) is  93-1233656.

If you are interested in making a gift of  mutual funds not held in a brokerage account or if your stock is in the form of a  physical certificate please contact  Paul Westhelle at 541-552-6301 since these types of donations may require different processing procedures.

If you or your broker needs additional technical information to initiate a transfer please contact our account manager at Morgan Stanley,  Marquetta Stratton, at 541-772-0243.

Step 2: Notify the JPR Foundation, Inc. of Gift

Stock donations transfer to the JPR Foundation account with no accompanying donor information. In order for the JPR Foundation to identify your gift and send you a tax receipt you will need to provide us with the gift details including the  name of the stock, the  number of shares, and the  date of transfer.

Please notify the JPR Foundation of your donation in one of the following ways:

  • Download our Stock Gifts Notification Form and mail the completed form to: Jefferson Public Radio, Attn: Paul Westhelle, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland, OR 97520 or fax the completed form to (541) 552-8565 to the attention of Paul Westhelle 
  • Phone Paul Westhelle at (541) 552-6301 to provide this information

As soon as your donation is identified, an acknowledgement letter will be issued and sent to you by postal service.
