There's certainly a physical component to a major fire in a town; many buildings are destroyed. But there's also a psychic component, a community that is forced to rebuild and recover from the trauma.
Paradise, California still has a long road ahead after the 2018 Camp Fire. And recently published research led by an Oregon State Universityassistant professor looks into the impact on Paradise of losing not just homes, but schools and health facilities as well.
