How To Keep The Search For Pleasure Healthy

You got the donut you were hoping for. Or the book, or the TV show, or the numerous likes on your Facebook page.

We have many ways to pursue pleasure and give our brains a little dose of dopamine. But is it a little? If we keep seeking pleasure, we can lead ourselves down a path to pain.

Dr. Anna Lembke knows from her work as Medical Director at Stanford Addiction Medicine.

Lembke is the author of a new book, Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence.

We check in with the doctor about how to find the balance between reward and overindulgence.
