Our first round of post-session interviews with members of the Oregon legislature came with a reminder that Medford, in Rep. Kim Wallan's district, did not feel the effects of the Almeda Drive fire in September 2020.
But that fire swept through the heart of the districts of Sen. Jeff Golden and Rep. Pam Marsh, both of Ashland. The fire destroyed thousands of homes and required a response from government at all levels.
It is a major part of our discussion with Golden and Marsh about the 2021 session, which accomplished much, but left a few things out. We explore both categories.
