Tired Of Polarization? Here's 'The Way Out'

Every election feels like a life-and-death struggle. Thanksgiving dinner with family can erupt in an angry debate with family members whom we seldom see and never agree with. We even choose places to live based on the politics.

What in political science could possibly solve this? Maybe nothing; it's a good thing Peter Coleman comes at this from a different science, psychology.

Dr. Coleman focuses on conflict resolution in his research, and he offers a new book, The Way Out: How to Overcome Toxic Polarization. He shows us how we got into the current rut... and shows approaches that could get us out of it.
