Local Brewery Has Starbucks Frothing Over Stout's Name
The giant coffee chain sent a cease-and-desist letter to the owner of Exit 6 Pub and Brewery in Missouri. Starbucks told the pub to stop referring to one of its dark, frothy beers as "the frappicino." Starbucks noted it sounds a lot like its trademarked frozen coffee drink.

As baby boomers retire and drilling increases, energy companies are hiring, adding 23 percent more workers between 2009 and 2012. But the hiring spree has come with a terrible price: Last year, 138 workers were killed on the job, twice as many as in 2009.

Oil Company Looks To Great Lakes As Shipping Demand Booms
North Dakota and western Canada are producing crude oil faster than rail cars and pipelines can take it to refineries. Now, one company wants to ship it by barge across the Great Lakes. That worries environmentalists, who say a 2010 tar sands oil spill near Lake Michigan has yet to be fully cleaned up.

Pacific Northwest Suffers After China Bans Shellfish Imports
Earlier this month, China imposed a ban on shellfish imports from most of the U.S. West Coast after finding two bad clams. The move is hitting Washington state particularly hard. State agencies estimate businesses there are losing as much as $600,000 a week.

Las Vegas Poker Player Reunited With Lost $300,000
A taxi driver in Las Vegas first thought the brown bag on the backseat contained chocolate. As it turned out, it was filled with something even sweeter. Six thick bundles of $100 bills. The driver handed the bag in to his office which tracked down the passenger, a well-known poker player.
