CA Governor Debate Sept. 4 at 7pm

On Thursday night, September 4th, JPR will broadcast the only California gubernatorial debate for the 2014 election between California Governor Jerry Brown and Republican candidate Neel Kashkari.

KQED, along with the Los Angeles Times, Telemundo52 and The California Channel are producing the program, with KQED's California Politics and Government Senior Editor John Myers as moderator. The panel of journalists for the debate include L.A. Times Editor-at-Large Jim Newton and Telemundo52 Morning News Anchor DuniaElvir.

JPR will broadcast the debate on the News & Information Service, beginning at 7pm on Thursday, September 4th.  For a frequency in your area, click here.  To listen online, click the "Listen Live" link at the top of this page and select "News & Information."

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
Public media is at a critical moment.

Recent threats to federal funding are challenging the way stations like JPR provide service to small communities in rural parts of the country.
