Metropolitan Opera's 2019-2020 Season

On Saturday, December 7th, JPR's Classics & News Service will begin the Metropolitan Opera's 89th season of Saturday morning broadcasts with Philip Glass's Akhnaten. The broadcast season will once again be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network. All broadcasts this season begin at 10am.

Yannick Nézet-Séguin, in his second season as Music Director, conducts the new William Kentridge production of Wozzeck, as well as two revivals, Met Orchestra concerts at Carnegie Hall, and a New Year’s Eve Puccini Gala starring Anna Netrebko.
 
Mary Jo Heath returns for her fifth season as host and Ira Siff returns for his 13th season as commentator for the broadcasts, which feature a range of dynamic intermission features, live backstage interviews with artists, and the everpopular Opera Quiz.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
