On Saturday, December 1st, JPR's Classics & News Service will begin the Metropolitan Opera's 88th season of Saturday morning broadcasts with Boito's Mefistofele. All broadacsts this season begin at 10am except for Wagner's Die Walkure (3/30), Siegfried (4/13), and Gotterfammerung (4/27), which all begin at 9:00am. The broadcast season will once again be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.
Mary Jo Heath returns for her fourth season as host and Ira Siff returns for his 12th season as commentator for the broadcasts, which feature a range of dynamic intermission features, live backstage interviews with artists, and the everpopular Opera Quiz.
