Beginning Saturday, May 17th at 10am, JPR welcomes the return of the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Since its early days, Lyric Opera of Chicago has been regarded as one of the top three US opera companies, along with the MET and San Francisco. Chicago boasts an opera company with a box office exceeding 100% of capacity each year for the past decade, thanks to subscribers who give their tickets back for resale when they cannot attend a performance.
The full season includes:
May 17: Otello (Verdi)
May 24: Madama Butterfly (Puccini)
May 31: Parsifal (Wagner)
June 7: La Traviata (Verdi)
June 14: Die Fledermaus (Strauss, Jr.)
June 21: The Barber of Seville (Rossini)
June 28: Rusalka (Dvorak)
July 5: La Clemenza Di Tito (Mozart)
Join us Saturday mornings at 10am on the Classics & News Service for broadcasts of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, beginning May 17th.
