From ocean beaches to grassy dunes to estuarine wetlands to rocky shore, the Mouth of the Coquille River offers a stunning variety of natural habitats to discover. This weekend in the field will traverse the major habitats of the area, exploring from the sea’s edge to forests. Along the way you’ll learn about the natural systems there, including the geology, botany, birds and other wildlife, plus a bit of human history. From tide-pooling to searching for snowy plovers, this light-walking weekend will leave you with a new appreciation of life in this unique landscape. Ages 12+ welcome.
