The Pistol River Concert Association is proud to welcome Kristen Grainger & True North to the Pistol River Friendship Hall stage on Saturday, October 12th for a 7:30 PM performance.

Kristen Grainger & True North are a bluegrass-based Americana band based out of Portland. They feature perfect flat and finger-picking guitar by singer/songwriter Dan Wetzel; exquisite mandolin and fiddle playing by bluegrass maestro Martin Stevens; and stoic upright bass strumming by long time bluegrasser Joss Adkins. But center of most of True North’s music is rightfully centered around the exquisite vocals and stunning award-winning songwriting of band namesake Kristen Grainger. Her beautiful, clear voice that captures the attention, then her incredible lyrics pulls the listener in – taking them on a poetic and poignant journey. As singer/songwriter Kate McKenzie noted of True North “focusing around the terrific lead vocals of Kristen Grainger, the band shows what can happen when great songs meet great singers.”
