The Pistol River Concert Association presents - Cliff Stansell and Friends
The Pistol River Concert Association is pleased to present a special Valentines Day concert with a special local group of musicians when Cliff Stansell and Friends take the Friendship Hall stage on February 14th.
Cliff is a Curry County native, born into a house of music. He started playing guitar at 13 and quickly moved on to writing songs and picking up the banjo, mandolin and fiddle. A local go-to pick-up musician for bands that show up to Pistol River Concerts missing a player, Cliff has shared the stage with Mollie O’Brien, Special Consensus, Chuck Pyle, and Blame Sally among others.
Appearing with Cliff will be four other local artists with long musical resumes. Amy Keusink is a classically trained award-winning violinist who’s performances include the South Coast Music Festival. Multi-instrumentalist Chris Vorster was jamming in his native Pasadena area music scene by his mid-teens and played in several SW Oregon bands since the 1980’s Steve Boyer started playing accordion at age five, finding the possibilities of the instrument in the folk scene he found in college, and has shared the Friendship Hall stage with Los Pinguos. Bass guitarist Beau Jones was born in Atlanta into a musical family, and grew up playing jam bands, bluegrass, and country/rock in Georgia and West Virginia before finding a home in Oregon in 2007.
This will be a wonderful show featuring some of our great local musicians. Doors open at 6:30 PM for a 7:30 start. Tickets are available for $20 each at Wright’s Custom Framing in Brookings and First Chapter Coffee House in Gold Beach or can be purchased on-line at pistolriver.com for $21 each. If the show is not sold out, tickets will be available for $25 at the door.
