It’s that time of year again, time to take part in the age-old farm ritual of making scarecrows to protect your fields and gardens from birds, ghosts, and maybe, ghouls! October 1 and 2, 11am to 3pm each day, SOHS invites you to attend SOHS Hanley Farm’s 11th Annual Scarecrow Festival. Scarecrow-making kits will be available, and will have everything needed to make your scarecrow, including frame, straw, clothes, accessories, directions, etc. When your scarecrow is complete, enter it in the Peoples’ Choice contest, or you can take it home immediately. In addition to scarecrow making, there will be other activities, including photos with scarecrows, children’s activities, Hanley Farmhouse tours, and more!
