Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape Book Release Event

Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape Book Release Event

Save the Date!
Meet local Phoenix artist and author Beca Blake and enjoy the curated fine art of Crooked Mile Gallery during this first ever soft launch book release of Blake's new book, Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape.
Blake will be selling signed, hardcover, high quality color photo books printed exclusively for the initial soft launch of October and November, 2023.
Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape, is an impulsive performance art series produced by Beca Blake and family during an exploratory search for survival in 2022 as a single mother with two children. Set in a post pandemic cybernetic consumer world, the family performed with novelty food blankets bought on Amazon.com. They conducted a statement of survival in relation to consumption, place, time, and humanity in rural and urban settings while traveling past artifacts of culture in the western states of America.
The performances happened spontaneously in a variety of places both cosmopolitan and majestic along tearful trails and grateful footsteps of ancients and contemporaries.
The 177 page Road Food Elucidated Edition, includes an insightful forward, photo and written narrative, map of the journey, and acknowledgments.
Enjoy this opportunity to meet the conceptual artist, ask questions and find out more about the Contemporary Americana Road Food series!
