Live Concert by Singer/Songwriter Bobby Jo Valentine

Live Concert by Singer/Songwriter Bobby Jo Valentine

Singer/songwriter, storyteller and poet, Bobby Jo Valentine, will appear in concert at Christ Episcopal Church, Eureka on Tuesday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Bobby Jo Valentine is a self-described “explorative, hopeful, spiritual, queer artist who strives to make music and poetry that is good medicine for everyone.”  An award-winning singer/songwriter, hopeful mystic, and grounded poet, Bobby Jo creates music that exists outside the lines of any genre.  His thoughtful, spirit-focused lyrics and catchy melodies reach listeners across all walks of life. The poetic nature and spiritual focus of his stories and songs has resulted in notable awards and a growing, loyal following around the country.  He has found a voice with original, hopeful songs about the gentle everyday spiritual awakenings of an openhearted life.

His music has won Song of the Year twice at West Coast Songwriter’s Association, and his work has appeared on radio, TV, and feature films. He has performed artist residencies, hosted songwriting workshops, and been involved in helping communities of all types use their spaces and voice in more creative and powerful ways.  He plays concerts around the country for a myriad of venues - faith communities, pride festivals, and house concerts.

Bobby Jo is a believer in the soft and steady power of everyday acts of love to heal our world and has performed festivals and conferences around the country, including the Wild Goose Festival, Tedx, and the international Emerge Conference. His music has been featured in commercials, feature films, wedding ceremonies, and his greatest honor – Youtube videos with puppies. His songs have been sung by choruses around the country, including the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus and the Turtle Creek Chorale.

Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and the suggested donation is $20 (General) and $10 (Student).  Enter the church through the front doors (on H Street) or the Parish Hall (with accessible ramp) on 15th Street.  Off-street parking is available on the corner of 14th and G Streets.

Please join us for an evening of inspiring songs and community building at Christ Episcopal Church (corner of H and 15th Streets).  All are welcome!
