Latino Brushstrokes - opening reception
Latino Brushstrokes - opening reception
Through the month of September, the Shasta County Arts Council gallery at Old City Hall will be hosting an exhibition of contemporary paintings created by three talented local artists, Christiane Carter, Maria Henderson and Gladys Waters.
“We are three artists, originally from Latin America, that use oil paints and various brush techniques on canvas, to capture movement, forms, textures, lights, and shadows in our colorful compositions. Our art is vibrant, passionate, and inviting.
(...)
Even though we were born in different Latin countries, we share a historical, linguistic, and cultural bond that influences our art.
Our art reflects the richness and complexity of our cultural origins while celebrating the natural simplicity and beauty of Latin America.
Our Art is always evolving. We are constantly learning through classes and workshops, colleagues, and other talented artists. We are inspired and motivated by our amazing teachers Mollie Flack, Carole Larson, and Stefan Baumann.”
The exhibition opens on Friday, September 6 at 5pm, as part of First Fridays Downtown. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday - Friday, 10am - 4pm. Saturdays - 10am - 3pm. Admission is free.
Show runs through Saturday, September 28, 2024.
