Historical church in Bandon has ground-breaking ceremony
Holy Trinity Catholic Church, founded in 1883, and the second oldest Catholic Church on the Oregon Coast, is joyfully celebrating the ground-breaking of a new church on parish grounds. With a goal of $2.5Million, the Capital Campaign, "A Light by the Sea since 1883" is nearly 90% complete to raise the needed funds. On Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 11:45AM, the pastor of Holy Trinity, Fr. Anthony Ahamefule, will be joined by Portland Auxiliary Bishop Peter Smith, Bandon Mayor Mary Schamehorn, Parish Leadership Chairs and others for the official blessing of the ground and shovel ceremony. Coastal visitors and parishioners are currently worshipping in the comfortable, remodeled parish hall during the construction. Guests are welcome to join us for this ceremony, followed by a simple outdoor lunch.
