Bill Clinton To Campaign In Oregon This Week

Former President Bill Clinton will be in Portland on Thursday, May 5 to raise money for his wife’s presidential campaign.

The former president is also expected to campaign in public during his Oregon visit, but officials haven’t named specific stops yet.

Bill Clinton made a brief stop at Powell's Books in Portland last month ahead of Washington state's Democratic caucuses.

Hillary Clinton has built a strong delegate lead in the Democratic presidential race over Bernie Sanders. But, she faces an uphill climb in Oregon’s May 17 primary against the Vermont senator.

At this point Hillary Clinton hasn’t announced a campaign swing through Oregon.

So far, Clinton has gained high-profile endorsements in the Northwest, such as Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee. However, Sanders has gathered backing of his own, and has drawn huge crowds at public rallies in Portland and Seattle.

Tuesday, April 26 is the deadline to register to vote in the primary.
