A new clinic offering a one-stop shop to treat substance abuse, mental health and primary care held a grand opening in downtown Eugene Thursday.
Willamette Family is a non-profit that has been in the Eugene area for fifty years. It offers residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment, detox and help for families. Now they've opened a Rapid Access Clinic for walk-ins or appointments. Senior Manager Jonathan Smith.
Smith: "When we talk about health, wellness and recovery, understanding it's about treating the whole person. Trying to treat people in silos doesn't work well. And understanding that they may have mental health issues that they need help with or substance use issues, at the same time, people that have troubles with either of those issues, they also have primary care issues that have gone undiagnosed and not treated."
Smith says these integrated services should help take some of the pressure off of emergency rooms. The Rapid Access Clinic is on the corner of 12 th and Charnelton in downtown Eugene.
