Oregon's mountain biking trails are featured in a national magazine this month. Lane County tourism boosters hope the exposure will bring more visitors to the region.
Bike Magazine puts out its Bible of Bike Tests issue every January. In this month's issue, cyclists tested bikes on trails in Oakridge, along the McKenzie River, and in Central Oregon.
Kari Westlund is with Travel Lane County.
Westlund: "One of the nice things about this coverage is that when you see these photos, they are photos of people with bikes, but it just brings home how beautiful these trails are not just for bikers but for hikers and people who just want to get out in our glorious forests. They really do justice to the beautiful trails that we have here."
Westlund says the article also highlights local brewpubs and other businesses. Oakridge, a former logging town, has in recent years dubbed itself the "Mountain Biking Capital of the Northwest"
