Oregon Senator Ron Wyden spoke on the Senate floor this afternoon about the Senate Intelligence Committee report on post-9-11 tactics.
The report claims the CIA repeatedly misled Congress and the White House about the brutality of its interrogation techniques.
Wyden has been on Senate Intelligence Committee since September 11, 2001.
“The CIA’s so-called ‘advanced interrogation techniques’ included a number of techniques that our country has long considered torture," Wyden said. "I hope that this report closes the door on the possibility of our country resorting to torture again.”
CIA Director John Brennan released a statement saying the agency disagrees with the report’s major findings.
