State Hopes Oregonians Re-enroll By Insurance Deadline

Oregonians who want to keep their Affordable Care Act insurance running without interruption, have one more week to sign up with .

The deadline to make sure coverage continues through January, is December 15.

So far, about 19,000 Oregonians have re-enrolled. That's nine percent of those who need to.

Looking back at last year, Amy Fauver of Cover Oregon says people tend to wait until the last moment. But she says the state has four open houses scheduled this week.

"People can walk in the door and get help filling out their applications. We also have licensed insurance agents on site who can help you understand the difference among the plans and help you choose the best one."

The open houses are in Beaverton on Tuesday, Eugene on Wednesday, Keizer on Friday and Portland on Saturday.

To enroll, people need income documents as well as their social security number or non-citizen ID.
