Anheuser-Busch has acquired one of Oregon's most successful craft brewing companies.

Bend-based 10 Barrel Brewing also has locations in Boise, and plans to open a Portland location in 2015.

The brewery has a record of winning national beer rewards, and is known for its Apocalypse IPA.

Anheuser-Busch is primarily known for its nationally marketed beers, such as Budweiser, Michelob and Rolling Rock.

Garret Wales, one of the 10 Barrel founders, spoke in an online video after owners of 10 Barrel announced the acquisition by Anheuser-Busch.

"Right off the bat we want to remind you that things aren't changing," said Wales in the video. "We've still got the same brew team intact. Everything is staying the same, we're based here in Bend. It's going to open some doors for us to really put some resources behind the brand and grow things and put out some great new products."

The brewery founders say the deal is expected to close by the end of the year, and that they will remain at the helm of 10 Barrel's operations. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.
