Klamath Outdoor Science School is offering a series of educational, nature-based summer camps for youth and families. Camps include "Intro to Camp!" (ages 7-9), "Artists & Scientists" (ages 8-13), and "Juniors Family Camp" (ages 3-6 with accompanying adults). All camps are residential and include food and lodging.

Jeff LaLande, retired archaeologist and historian for the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, will discuss the role of the Table Rocks in the culture of the Takelma Indians, as well as the history of the Table Rocks area during the “Rogue Indian Wars” of the 1850s and the years following Euro-American settlement.
Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art (SMA) is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, "Moving Pictures: A Survey Exhibition of Works by Deborah Oropallo and Collaborators." Opening April 18 at 5 p.m., the exhibition invites art enthusiasts to delve into the captivating world of Deborah Oropallo and witness her artistic evolution spanning montage, sculpture, installation, and media work.
More than just a retrospective, "Moving Pictures" amplifies Oropallo's artistic journey, shedding light on her significant contributions to contemporary art. Born in Hackensack, New Jersey in 1954, Oropallo received her BFA from Alfred University and her MA/MFA from the University of California at Berkeley. Initially trained as a painter, she seamlessly integrates mixed media techniques such as photomontage, video, printmaking, and painting into her practice.
The North Coast Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) is holding its annual spring native plant sale at their nursery on Saturday May 4 (by appointment only) and Sunday May 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The CNPS volunteer-run nursery is located at Freshwater Farms Reserve (5851 Myrtle Ave., Eureka), a Northcoast Regional Land Trust property.Due to limited onsite parking, attendance is limited on Saturday May 4th and pre-sign up is required: https://northcoastcnpsnursery.org/sale/Sunday the sale is open with no sign up needed. This is the largest gardening event in Southern Oregon, and this year we arepleased to announce the return of a two-day event on the first weekend in May. Our 2024 Master Gardener class will be selling organic vegetables, herbs, and flowers, as well as Native Plants from our Nursery. Kids can enjoy interactive stations with traditional Japanese toys, cultural activities, and koi feeding.
Written by Tracy Letts and directed by former Oregon Shakespeare Festival artistic director Henry Woronicz, August Osage County takes a look at the lives of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose paths have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to their Oklahoma homestead. The thirteen-member cast includes Linda Alper, Kjerstine Anderson, Denis Arndt, Wayne Carr, Rainbow Dickerson, Michael Elich, Michael J. Hume, Samantha Miller, James Ryen, Barret O’Brien, Caroline Shaffer, Vilma Silva, and K.T. Vogt.
In this introductory class, each class will have a short instruction time, a demonstration, followed by practice time with help from the instructor. The students will work through a sketch book which includes lessons, practice pages, and each week’s drawing assignment. At the end of the course the sketch book will serve as the students ‘textbook’ and will showcase all they learned.
