Newly Renovated Columbia Hotel embraces sustainability and local

artists in grand reopening on First Friday April 5th.

Ashland, Oregon - March 20th, 2024 - The highly anticipated grand reopening of The
Columbia Hotel, the first sustainability focussed hotel targeting outdoor enthusiasts in
Southern Oregon, opens for guests on April 5th. The opening marks a milestone in the
hospitality industry, as it unveils its newly renovated space with a renewed commitment to
sustainability and support for local artists with original murals in each guest room.
Situated at the heart of downtown Ashland, the hotel aims to redefine luxury through
eco-conscious practices and a celebration of local artistry.
As part of its sustainability initiatives, The Columbia Hotel has implemented various
eco-friendly practices, including upcycling, no single use items, energy-efficient lighting,
water conservation measures, and waste reduction strategies. With a dedication to reducing
its carbon footprint, the hotel aims to set a new standard for environmentally conscious
hospitality.
In addition to its sustainability efforts, The Columbia Hotel is proud to showcase the vibrant
culture and talent of Ashland by featuring works of local artists throughout the rooms and
gallery hallways of the hotel. From large murals to interactive art, guests will have the
opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich artistic heritage of Southern Oregon.
"We are excited to introduce guests to a reimagined hospitality experience that not only
prioritizes sustainability but also celebrates the creativity and diversity of our local artists,"
said Jay Bowen, Owner and Operator. "Our renovated space reflects our commitment to
