Humboldt Mediation Services’ annual Community Mediator Training is coming up
fast with our first session on October 3rd. This 34-hour, in-person 2-week training
prepares participants for phases of Community Board mediation, including case
development; shared understanding of issues; and drafting agreements. Learn to
facilitate discussion, remain impartial, deal with strong emotion, build trust, and
design workable agreements.
Humboldt Mediation Services is a community organization that trains volunteers to
work in teams and help people have difficult conversations, look for win-win
agreements, and work toward positive change.

As a community-based organization, we want to expand our volunteers and
leadership to include many more local and regional communities. We’re reaching
out across the spectrum of culture, race, gender, ability and class. Humboldt Area
Foundation has awarded us with funding for scholarships to individuals who come
from groups we’ve underserved and who want to team up to make a difference
through mediation.
