Britt Music & Arts Festival has announced Renia Shterenberg as its new General Manager of the Britt Festival Orchestra (BFO). She joins the BFO from San Antonio, Texas, where she has been Executive Director of a chamber group Olmos Ensemble, and a player in the first violin section of the San Antonio Symphony. Shterenberg also has ties to Britt and southern Oregon, having performed as a violinist with the BFO from 2004 to 2011.
The BFO also announced the upcoming 60th anniversary season will kick off in mid-June this summer, in an attempt to avoid the wildfire smoke that has plagued recent seasons. The orchestra concerts will take place from June 17th through July 3rd.
Britt Music & Arts Festival provides diverse live performances, a classical festival and an array of education programs that create a sense of discovery and community. Since its grassroots beginnings in 1963, the non-profit organization has grown from a two-week chamber music festival to a summer-long series of concerts in a variety of genres, including a three-week orchestra season, and year-round education and engagement programs.
