Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden Says Former FBI Director's Firing 'Stinks'

Members of Oregon’s Congressional delegation reacted to former FBI director James Comey’s testimony Thursday.

Oregon's senior Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee and began his questioning of Comey with a comment: “I believe the timing of your firing stinks," he told Comey.

"And yesterday, you put on the record testimony that demonstrates why the odor of presidential abuse of power is so strong.”

Sen. Jeff Merkley said Comey’s testimony painted a profoundly disturbing portrait of President Trump and the administration.

He said Comey spoke with great confidence, and that it's notable Comey said of his conversations with Trump that: “I hope there are tapes.”

Oregon’s only Republican in Congress, Rep. Greg Walden, has yet to comment.
