A wildfire that burned nearly 7-thousand acres and threatened hundreds of homes west of Bend is now 55 percent contained. Officials suspect the Two Bulls Fire was human caused. A reward for information that leads to a conviction of whoever's responsible is now nearly $2-thousand.
The reward was boosted Wednesday by a contribution from Eric and Robin Coats of Shevlin Sand & Gravel. The City of Bend, Deschutes County Sheriff's office and several businesses and individuals have contributed.
"What you see here is citizens really want the person or persons held accountable for this fire."
Captain Shane Nelson is with the Deschutes County Sheriff's office. Crews are on "mop up duty" on the Two Bulls Fire which was spotted Saturday. It spread quickly, aided by winds and dry conditions. At one point about 250 people were evacuated. The estimated cost of fighting the blaze is $ 3 million.
