Sad Goodbyes... Exciting Arrivals

For over thirty years, Tom and Ray Magliozzi, better known as "Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers," entertained listeners nationwide with a unique combination of wit, charm, love and laughter. Along the way, they shared countless stories all things automotive, of life, and of loss.  This post is is of loss, as we say farewell to one of the all-time favorite shows in public radio. Car Talk ends its three-decade run on JPR at the end of the month. The show ends production later this year.

While nothing will ever replace Car Talk, we are excited to share news that the end of Car Talk does provide an opportunity for us to shake things up a bit and debut some new programs across our networks! Beginning Saturday, July 1st, you'll hear things like NPR's Ask Me Another and the new A Prairie Home Companion with Chris Thile on the Rhythm & News Service.

On the News & Information Service, we're debuting a brand new weekly show from NPR which combines two of their wildly popular podcasts: Planet Money and How I Built This. We're also adding BBC News Hour to the weekday lineup. We'll also be "re-arranging the furniture" a fair bit to make room for the new programs and get everything settled in.

The Classics & News Service sees only one significant change, as we debut Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center on Saturday afternoons.

Check back  Monday, June 26th to see the new weekend lineups.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
