PLAYHOUSE ARTS PRESENTS Pageant at the Playhouse 2021 July 12-23 , 10 a.m.-4 p.m. outside, at 1251 9th St. Arcata Pageant is back! We are bringing our long-standing Pageant on the Plaza tradition to the Playhouse’s Creamery District. Children 9-15 are invited to join us for two weeks of learning, playing and creating. The classes aim to build physical theater skills and ensemble building foundations. The students will cultivate their creativity and find ways to express themselves, as they learn to use their bodies in relationship with others and the space. The classes will be held outside, with the students and faculty wearing masks and respecting social distancing. Classes will be on stilt walking, movement, mask and puppet building, story building and processional music. The workshop will culminate in a public procession and outdoor spectacle performance on Friday, July 23, time TBD. Price: $350. We are able to offer some partial and full scholarships.
