National Creek Complex Facebook page

Eastern Oregon's Canyon Creek Complexof fires is now 23% contained as firefighters were aided by lessening winds and cooler temperatures on Saturday. The fire has closed Highway 395 south of John Day. Winds are expected to increase over the next two days, elevating the risk of the fire growing.

The National Creek Complex, burning in and near Crater Lake National Park, is 10% contained. The Park's north entrance, and Highway 230 between Union Creek and Highway 97 remain closed.

The Stouts Creek Fire, east of Canyonville, is now 84% contained. Dense smoke in the area has grounded helicopters, but fire crews are working to extinguish hot spots.
