Inspired by the sounds of Neil Young, The Band, and spaghetti westerns since forming in Windsor, Ontario in 2002. In 2008, their album Mountain Meadows was on the shortlist for the famed Polaris Prize, and 2013's Days Into Years won a Juno award for Best Roots & Traditional Album of the Year.

The mythical Elliott Brood character at the heart of the band's name is a construct for whom the band can craft stories and write songs without any need for facts to be rooted in reality. Instead, the songs can and do easily play with time, history, and even the central character's persona.

For our live session, the band shared up some recently recorded full band performances of tunes from their 2020 release called Keeper.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
