Em Harriss is an Ashland-based singer/songwriter and internet sensation who describes herself as “super socially awkward and shy” about her music, despite a growing fan base on Vine of over 280,000 followers and a recent EP that hit the top 10 on iTunes. Harriss, whose voice sounds like a fusion of Fiona Apple and Regina Spektor, started using Vine about 10 months ago where she says “things just took off unexpectedly.”

She rose to fame partly because of her unique approach to songwriting and performing: rather than writing and recording full songs, she shared short clips of songs with her Vine listeners.   Her new EP is called Year 2277.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
