The Matt Hill Band formed just a couple of months before they decided to enter the 2013 South State Cellars/Britt Festivals Rising Stars Competition - a talent showcase designed as a fundraiser for La Clinica. The Grants Pass band ended up winning the contest, which included a half-hour live session on JPR.
