A confrontation Wednesday over a downtown Eugene bakery’s mask policy has led to assault and robbery charges.
Eugene Police say Ricki Collin and Amy Hall of Portland entered the Crumb Together cookie eatery Wednesday morning. The pair refused to wear face masks as requested, and an employee holding a bat asked them to leave. Collin and Hall got into a physical scuffle with the employee, then Collin took the employee's bat and left.
The pair contacted police shortly afterwards and showed them a video they’d shot themselves of the entire confrontation. Police then arrested Collin and Hall for assault in the third degree, with an additional charge of robbery for Collin for taking away the bat. They were taken to the Lane County Jail, and their video – shared on YouTube – has since been taken down.
Calls to Crumb Together for comment were not returned. But the business has shared Tweets over previous stalking, phone bomb campaigns, and harassment since announcing their mask policy in recent weeks.
